A TRIBUTE TO PAVAROTTI is an elegant concert program with outstanding American soloists and on stage musicians. The concert features music closely associated with Pavarotti's legacy. Beautiful background projections tell the story of the operas and canzones and Master of Ceremonies, Giorgio Lalov introduces the selections, giving a short synopsis of each piece.

Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007) was an Italian operatic tenor and one of the most popular vocal performers of his time: Born in Modena, Italy, Pavarotti's father was an amateur tenor who inspired his love of music. Pavarotti studied opera privately and won a singing competition, before making his professional debut in 1961. Pavarotti was known for his pure tone and larger-than-life showmanship. He performed in opera houses around the world, including the Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. He also crossed over into popular music, appearing in televised concerts, on Saturday Night Live, and in American Express advertisements. Pavarotti was part of the iconic trio of tenors known as the Three Tenors, along with Plácido Domingo and José Carreras. They performed together for the first time at the 1990 FIFA World Cup. Pavarotti was known for his charity work, raising money for refugees and the Red Cross. He also worked with Princess Diana to ban land mines. Pavarotti died from pancreatic cancer in Modena, Italy on September 6, 2007 at the age of 71.
